Ganapati, Ganesha, Vinayaka, he has many names!He is the favorite God of every Indian child and is also popular in Sri lanka, Thailand and Nepal. He is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences. As the god of beginnings, he is honored at the start of rituals and ceremonies. A little information on Symbolism and Significance of Ganapati:

1)Ganesha's big belly represents generosity and total acceptance.

2)Ganesha's upraised hand depicts protection.

3) Ganesha also has a single tusk which signifies one-pointedness

Because of his identification with the color red, he is often worshiped with red sandalwood paste or red flowers.
